This year, the theme of our retreat is work-life.. Our staff were encouraged to bring their families or friends to this retreat.. Our business associates were also invited to participate.. We were closed from 22 March - 25 March 2007.
The retreat was held at the Changi Cottage near Changi Village. Neatly tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the Changi Cottage is a colonial sea-fronting villa with breathtaking panaromic seaview, tranquil settings and lush green landscapes. Its majestic compound (sitting on at least 30,000 sf of real estate) and well equipped abode made it an ideal escapade for the retreat. To top it all, this villa is rich in its historical chapters. LKY once stayed here when he was on the "hate-list". This was when Singapore separated from Malaysia. Not only that, this villa had housed many foreign guest diplomats and VIPs.
We kicked off the retreat with a BBQ where we invited our business associates as our corporate guests. Our boss, Wang, got his maid to prepare the meat & seafood. Our Indian colleagues made us authentic tandoori chicken & curry. Me? I made the spread on the salad bar...
There were lots of fun and games... Football, mahjong, chor dai di, etc... It was really a good break away from work...
The turnout was great. Most of our staff brought along their families and friends.. and even our fellow business associates from NetMark, Inchone, Aculearn and Bizibodi turned out in full force to join us.. We had a great time.. Take a tour of our photos by clicking on the link below... and share our joyous moments...
I've been working for this company for almost 3 years now (since Nov 2004) and I've been through a lot with it.. We had gone through very rough patches together but we managed to shoulder on. I would only attribute the astonishing progress, to four key fundamentals.
1. The outstanding leadership of the core management;
2. The commitment & dedication from our staff;
3. The excellent partnership with our business associates; AND...
4. The resounding continual trust from our customers.
We are a very small company.. but if you look at what we had achieved.. the accounts that we secure.. and the level of services that we deliver.. we are not a force to be reckoned.. I'm happy to be a part of it and I'm proud that we had taken it this far..
This retreat gave us a very clear mandate that we are on the right course and that we are heading in the right direction. It is an important milestone as it showed the solidarity and affirmation of a great company in the making..
Kudos and long live Jupiter...
