How do we handle obstacles in life?

Today, I'd like to pay a special tribute to a cab driver. I was in his cab on my way to meet a client this morning and was caught in a massive jam. Then we realized what caused the jam.. AN OPENED UMBRELLA in the middle of the road.

Upon seeing this, the cab driver put on his hazard lights, slowed down and STOPPED. He got out of his cab and remove the opened umbrella in the rain and went on.

There must had been dozen of cars before us that had seen it but ALL avoided the opened umbrella. All except the cab driver.

I commended the cab driver saying that people like him makes a difference. But he humbly just said, "it is nothing lar.. it is only right to do it"..

So my question to all of you reading this is, when you stumble upon obstacles or problems in our lives, what do you do? Do you evade it like all other drivers before us did? Or do you make that little sacrifice for the good of everyone?

This is a good point to reflect upon because, how we make a difference in our lives depends on what each and everyone does. If everyone thinks that this is not my problem and just ignore it, let me remind all of you that everyone will suffer as a result of that.. including YOU..

In a wider context, if the problem or obstacle is amplified (like global warming, poverty, fuel shortage, etc).. can you imagine what will happen if everyone chooses to ignore instead of choosing to exercise your sense of duty to our fellow men?

So friends, the next time you stumble upon something that you can do to make a difference, what would you do?

Cheers.
Martin
