Year 2002 ended pretty badly... the year 2002 saw Phantom officially declared a bankrupt... he lost all his assets... the recent news from his boss on a 10% pay-cut for the Phantom & only a half month bonus pay-out... was another blow to him... but biggest blow to the Phantom was the custody case on Iggi...
The Court awarded the custody of Iggi to Charon in the most unfair manner... The Phantom was hit below the belt.. The Phantom had written to the Court for the case to be adjourned for two weeks... the Court replied that he's gotta get the consent from Charon for the adjournment... The Phantom called Charon and she said ok... The Phantom then wrote to the Court confirming this... There was no further correspondences from the Court so anybody would assume that the case would be adjourned...
However, on the underhand advice of her lawyer... Charon showed up on the date of the trial and seek that judgement be passed... as the Phantom was not present to defend the case and Charon lied thru her teeth to deny that she had agreed to have the case adjourned... the Judge awarded Charon with sole-custody of the child...
The Phantom cried "FOUL" and wrote to the Court but the Court could not be bothered... all they said was, "If you not happy, you appeal lor"... This is sheer INJUSTICE... The Phantom will seek re-dress but he knows that chances for the judgment to be reversed isn't very optimistic...
Charon is making the Phantom's life very sore... she's not granting him any access to Iggi at all... To rub salt into his wound, she would get Iggi to call him and then she would taunt him with all sorts of insults... she would provoke him till he loses his cool on the phone and then she would use a recording device to record him him scolding her to supported her case that he's an abusive man...
Well, Charon can taunt whatever she wants now because the Phantom made a resolution that he will stick by what he had always been teaching Iggi... that "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but WORDS can't hurt me" (unquote)... and neither will he seek vengence... in his own words, "She'll pay for it someday... somehow... why dirty my hands" (unquote)...
For now, the Phantom will just count his blessings and be happy with whatever that he's left with... Sure, it hurts... but he had gotten used to it by now... he had learnt that in life, there'd always be unlevel paths that he must take... he'll just have to count his blessings rather than his misfortunes...
