Iggi's Graduation...

Hi guys,

I lost custody of Iggi last christmas. But I managed to keep him within the jurisdiction of Singapore... i.e. Charon can't take him out of Singapore without my consent. I only have access every other weekends... much at the mercy of Charon really... she uses Iggi as an emotional blackmail on me to get things her way... its like saying to me, "I want this... and if I don't get it, you're not gonna get to see Iggi"... yeah... that really sucks...

One year had past but the wound still hurts (for Iggi and me).. Its still painful and I miss my boy terribly.. But this is already a reality.. Both Iggi and I have accepted this as our fate of being separated.. Even then, we had countless tearful nights whenever we talked about how much we miss each other.. whenever we feel the long-yearned hug of each other..

Iggi had coped well... like me, he stands strong and faced his pain head on.. Its comforting that he remembered everything I taught him. The most touching part is that he uses what I taught him to console me.. like.. "Dad, the best way to fight the pain is to face it, right? You taught me so didn't you?".. Whenever I get pissed when Charon & I quarrel, he would say, "Remember? Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words can't hurt you".. And whenever I felt like giving up, he would say... "Dad... if you think you can... YOU CAN"... Well, what can I say? If a 6 yr old can hang in there, how can I let him down? How can I defy everything that I taught him?

Today, my boy had graduated from pre-school... On 2 January 2004, he will start his primary education at St Stephen's School... Though this is just the start of his academic pursuit, it is still a significant milestone for my lad... He had gone thru a lot for a 6 yr old... With many more challenges to come, much is left to be seen on how junior copes... Nonetheless, whatever he endeavours, I'd be behind him... all the way...
