Interesting Facts - Dead People's Money...

There is a very interesting report I read from a magazine at a client's place while waiting for my client. This report claims that there are more than 8.9 billion UNCLAIMED LIFE INSURANCE POLICIES in the United States.... some of the beneficiaries are dead by now as well... Hmm... So, why bother to buy insurance then? Your loved ones may not even get the money... I mean, those insurance companies won't even bother to check if their policy holders or their beneficiaries are still alive... Why would they? No people claim? Better for them. Besides, there are so many policy holders... how to monitor if this one is dead or not? No wonder Insurance Companies are so rich... Let's just assume that every policy is just $10,000.. so 8.9 billion of unclaimed policies works out to be.... heheheh... I trust that the figures can be quite alarming...

Many people buy insurance policies for their loved ones... but how can we ensure that our loved ones get the money when we die? One way is to make a will but what if we don't have a will? What if the loved ones do not even know that they are beneficiaries? Or worse, our so-called loved ones don't even know that we are dead !!!

Face it dudes... you may have inheirited a fortune from some distant relatives whom may have died intestate and his/her estate is still lying around somewhere... UNTOUCHED... and the best part is... YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW IT...

Thus, if you go claim it now, you'd probably get the entire fortune by yourself because, there will probably be no one contesting it... either... no one else alive to contest it (especially if their beneficiaries died before them) or no one remembers that dead person ever existed... Sad isn't it?

Well, I've made my will... and I've told my loved ones about where to get my money when I die... Have you made yours? REMEMBER to tell your loved ones how to get it after you die and update your will when necessary (when beneficiaries dies)... otherwise, your estate (all your money, insurance, etc) will remain unclaimed till God knows when...

OK... Now, I've got to go search my family roots to see if I've got any rich great-grand uncles or aunties or any other distant relatives that died without a will... I may be an overnight rich man... hahahahaha....
